WASHINGTON, D.C.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Bluesight, the leader in automated and intelligent medication management solutions, today announced that Premier Inc. has extended its sole source partnership with the company for its ControlCheck solution as well as its namesake kit and tray processing system. Premier, one of the nation’s largest group purchasing organizations, is a leading healthcare improvement company uniting more than 4,000 U.S. hospitals and health systems and more than 175,000 other providers and organizations.

“We are excited about Premier’s renewed commitment to helping their members gain insight into controlled substance use across facilities and the prevention of potential drug theft,” said Kevin MacDonald, CEO and co-founder of Bluesight.

Both ControlCheck, an artificial intelligence-based medication diversion detection and discrepancy resolution solution, and KitCheck’s RFID-based inventory management solution provide valuable insight and actionable data throughout the medication life cycle. From visibility that tracks drugs from production to when they reach the patient, to tagging visibility that ensures the right drug is in the right place at the right time for the right patient, the partnership renewal creates an accountable data journey for drugs and their origins.

“We are excited about Premier’s renewed commitment to helping their members gain insight into controlled substance use across facilities and the prevention of potential drug theft,” said Kevin MacDonald, CEO and co-founder of Bluesight. “As the sole source vendor for Premier, Bluesight is streamlining their pharmacy management approach, which creates a more efficient, safe environment for their members and patients alike.”

ControlCheck is a source-system agnostic platform that provides 100 percent audit of the OR and nursing floors as well as in the pharmacy, allowing healthcare organizations to get ahead of diversion events before they happen. KitCheck’s RFID-based medication inventory tracking and automated tray processing uses RFID tags combined with automation to enable hospital pharmacists to easily track drugs coming in and out of their doors, and removes the downtime associated with shortages and recalls.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Bluesight’s diversion software and their kit and tray processing tools,” said Chris Jones, R.Ph., Director, Pharmacy Automation and Technology at Premier, based in Charlotte, N.C. “They are a clear leader in medication tracking and machine learning for controlled substances and provide a powerful service for our Pharmacy Member health systems.”
