Sandy Still, PharmD, joins Bluesight as the newest Director of Clinical Strategy. Sandy is a health system pharmacy leader with over 20 years of experience. Prior to joining Bluesight, Sandy was the Manager of Medication Safety, Use and Policy at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, South Carolina. During her time at MUSC, she helped implement ControlCheck (formerly known as Bluesight for Controlled Substances). Prior to MUSC, Sandy was the Inpatient Pharmacy Quality Coordinator at Kaiser Permanente Northwest (KPNW) in Portland, Oregon. She developed KPNW’s controlled substances diversion prevention committee and co-led the KitCheck RFID implementation in anesthesia automated dispensing machines.
Sandy has a passion for medication safety and believes that the Bluesight solutions are key to preventing medication errors, providing insight into medication management data, and allowing more time for pharmacy staff to focus on patients. Sandy’s extensive experience in building diversion prevention programs and in driving patient safety initiatives makes her an asset to the Bluesight team.
“I built a great relationship with the Bluesight team across the past several years, and I have always looked for ways to make an impact in healthcare beyond just my hospital,” said Sandy. “What I love the most about Bluesight is the quality of the products. I’m excited to continue to work with these innovative products and to work for a company that allows me to drive transformation at hospitals across the United States.”
This spring, Sandy will step into a leadership role with Bluesight’s Diversion Collective, a virtual learning cohort part of the Bluesight Community. The Diversion Collective helps organizations learn best practices from experts and provides tools and resources to ensure the success of their drug diversion prevention program. To date, over 150 participants from 60 health systems including individuals in pharmacy, nursing, and compliance, have registered for a Diversion Collective cohort. Sandy will lead her first cohort in March.
