Bluesight Recognized as Best in KLAS for Drug Diversion, Patient Privacy

Bluesight’s ControlCheck scores 86.1 and patient privacy scores 94.3

Alexandria, VA., February, 5th 2025 – Bluesight, the leading provider of hospital intelligence solutions that create savings and reduce risk, today announced two of its products, ControlCheck and its patient privacy monitoring solution (previously Protenus) were awarded Best in KLAS for Drug Diversion Monitoring and Patient Privacy categories, respectively, in the 2025 Best in KLAS: Software & Services report.

Created by industry-leading healthcare technology analyst firm KLAS Research, the 2025 Best in KLAS Report recognizes software and services companies that excel in helping healthcare professionals improve patient care.

For the latest report, customers surveyed by KLAS scored ControlCheck at 86.1. The patient privacy solution scored 94.3, with the latter being one of the highest scores achieved in past rankings. This positive customer feedback is an example of Bluesight’s ongoing commitment to advance hospital operations through bold innovation and collaboration. The recent integration with the Protenus product portfolio enables Bluesight to offer customers a comprehensive operating system for broader healthcare operations and compliance.

“We are honored to be recognized by KLAS for our ControlCheck and patient privacy monitoring solutions,” said Kevin MacDonald, CEO and Co-Founder of Bluesight. “The most important priority for our company is to ensure that we are listening and meeting the needs of our customers. This award is a testament to our strategy and all of the hard work by our team to deliver on this mission.”

The Best in KLAS recognition follows Bluesight’s recent acquisition of Protenus and showcases the power of the combined  capabilities.

ControlCheck provides users with an end-to-end workflow that both confirms and prevents drug diversion across nursing, procedural, inpatient pharmacy, and retail pharmacy operations. The easy-to-use platform automates closed-loop transaction reconciliation and provides guided workflows. When combined with a patient privacy solution, Bluesight provides critical monitoring capabilities to better protect healthcare organizations and the communities they serve.

Protenus’ patient privacy monitoring leverages machine learning and advanced analytics to accurately, reliably, and quickly detect privacy violations. It is designed to provide a more effective method of identifying suspicious or inappropriate behavior proactively, enabling healthcare compliance stakeholders to reduce the inefficient manual tasks and focus on better risk reduction outcomes for their organization and patients.  It reduces risk of both false positives and false negatives.

“As we look toward the future, we believe that our solutions will serve more as systems that expand across the continuum of care, automate additional workflows, and further reduce risk and increase savings,” added MacDonald.
