ZDNet Video Interview: How machine learning and AI can help detect opioid theft

The misuse and addiction of opioids has sparked a crisis across the United States, including those on the front lines: hospital administrators. Tonya Hall of ZDNet sat down with Kit Check’s Chief Product and Engineering officer Cameron Ferroni to discuss how the company’s latest product offering, Bluesight for Controlled Substances, is using AI and machine learning to help hospital leadership combat the problem at their own institutions.

In the video below, Ferroni chats about how Kit Check’s solution starts with collecting all the data needed to get a real-time view of how, when and where controlled substances are being used throughout the hospital. He then explains how machine learning algorithms are applied to allow users to drill down and identify staff and behaviors that represent the highest diversion risk clearly show and highlight specific behavioral patterns.
